Cleft lip and palate anomaly is one of the most frequently encountered congenital malformations caused due to morphologic changes, altered growth factors, and absolute tissue deficiency in the hard palate and abnormal tissues in the maxillo- palatal region. The goal in the correction of classical clefts should be directed toward carrying through the embryogenesis that was interrupted during fetal development. Cleft care has evolved steadily over the past decade and research has advanced our understanding of the sequelae of these anomalies and the implications of various treatment options.
Following this theory, the extent of the success to achieve the ideal, beautiful, functional normal depends greatly on the craftsmanship of the execution and the healing of the positioned parts which can be achieved through the team approach in cleft care.
