NOW BEING WRITTEN UPON MY HEART is about the author's salvation, backsliding and problems with mental health resulting from disobeying God. Like the Children of Israel who backslide from God after being delivered from slavery in Egypt, the writer himself backslide soon after accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour. He "quit church", stop reading his Bible, and stop obeying the word of God. Since God chastens those whom He loves, the writer began feeling the hand of God in time and he repented. Through the prayers of his parents, shock treatments with medication, and group therapy, he recovered from stays in a mental hospital and returned to God. No longer neglecting God and His ways, God's word in now being written upon the author's heart because he obeys God now. Jerry Daniel was born in Oxford, NC. He started school the same year segregation in public schools was outlawed.
