The stylistic piano part can be played as written or serve as a guide, and an optional bass and drum kit part is available separately for jazz trio accompaniment. With a gentle Kyrie, funky Gloria, ballad-like Sanctus, laid-back Benedictus, and passionate Agnus Dei, this work breathes new life into familiar words, perfectly combining the contemporary with the ancient.
Ideal for all mixed-voice choirs, the Nidaros Jazz Mass will make a groovy and soulful addition to any concert programme.This work was originally commissioned in a version for upper voices by the Nidaros Cathedral Girls' Choir of Trondheim, Norway.
