Guitar Hero aj v novom pokračovaní vsádza na istotu základov, ktoré ju vystrelili do stratosféry. Warriors of Rock sa sústredí prevažne na hru na gitare. Grafika sa síce zmení, ale hrateľnosť nie.Vo Warriors of Rock zostali zachované všetky obľúbené režimy, kombinovanie nástrojov, okamžitý vstup do hry, niekoľko obtiažností a vytváranie vlastných playlistov. Obľúbený Quick Play doznal maličkých zmien čo sa týka počtu challengov, na jednu skladbu je ich až 13 a okrem čistého hrania sleduje aj dosahovanie neuveriteľne vysokého skóre pomocou špeciálnych schopností transformovaných postáv. Závratné milióny budú potom zapisované do celosvetového rebríčka.V príbehovom Quest Móde budete postupne zdolávať jedno pódium za druhým a odomykať si stále nové vecičky do výbavy hudobníkov.
