Dr. Zergabachew Asfaw has been practicing medicine for over Thirty years in Bronx New York. He graduated from Addis Ababa university as doctor of medicine in 1979 and as young graduated served as a medical director of st Mary hospital in Axum, Tigray, northern Ethiopia when Eritrean Liberation Front and Tigray Liberation Front were fighting against the Ethiopian Military rule of Mengistu Haile Mariam. In the early eighties he completed postgraduate studies in medicine and pursued research career that enabled him to travel to different parts of Ethiopia. In 1989 came to the Yale University school of medicine as Fogarty International Fellow. He opted not return to Ethiopia because of political turmoil in the country and chose to pursue his medical career here in the United States. He completed postgraduate studies in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics and has been serving Bronx
