For the past ten years, London-based Scala Arts & Heritage Publishers Ltd. One of the 2019 additions to this edition is a selection by Roman Musil, Director of the Gallery of West Bohemia in Pilsen, which introduces - in Czech and English versions - thirty-seven landmark works from the institution's extensive art collections. has been publishing a series titled Director's Choice presenting the world's major museums and galleries through the eyes of their respective directors.

The Gallery of West Bohemia has thus joined an exclusive club of world institutions such as the Albertina in Vienna, the National Gallery in London, the Alte and Neue Pinakothek in Munich, the Frick Collection in New York, or the Staatliche Museen in Berlin. The book comprises works of art from the mid-fourteenth century to the end of the twentieth century.
