Implantology is a part of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery that deals with surgical techniques used to functionally restore mandibular or maxillary bone rendered edentulous by the continuous transformation of oral cavity - e.g. attrition, periodontitis, trauma, caries etc. Many a times due to inadequate bone the process of dental implant placement becomes complicated which leads to implant failure.
