The book summarizes the scientific research and the practice of briquettes use for the smelting of cast iron, steel, ferroalloys and the production of direct reduced iron. Today, briquetting is a cost-effective, industrially mastered technology capable to process natural and anthropogenic materials without their preliminary high-temperature treatment.
