He currently lives in a Victorian cottage that was built in 1880. The air is fresh and the wind frequently gusts over eighty kilometres per hour. The garden is packed with fruit trees, flowering plants and vegetables in a scene reminiscent of a somewhat unkempt English cottage garden.
For many years he and his wife cared for a very disabled daughter. This raised questions about spiritual beliefs, choices made for a variety of reasons, and life priorities. It also meant there was time to let his mind wander and dream up 'what if' scenarios.
