This is a comprehensive "atlas" of the brain of the newborn infant as depicted by high-frequency ultrasound. Coverage begins with "echo-anatomy", then proceeds through congenital anomalies, in utero acquired brain damage, and perinatal injury. For ease of use, the volume is arranged into distinct parts.

Additional topics covered include Doppler imaging and the measurement of echodensity. Where relevant, corresponding CT or MRI pictures are provided. Throughout the work, the authors maintain a focus on relevance for the practicing physician.
