This book examines the ways in which women in the contemporary Middle East and North Africa have re-imagined revolutionary discourses by galvanizing creativity as a means of resistance, collective action, and change. Using an interdisciplinary approach that draws upon a vast spectrum of productions from different revolutionary periods and spaces between 2011 and 2022 (Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, and Algeria), the book is divided into three parts which foreground the unique relationship between textual, visual and performative modes as they engage art and politics. It shows how women's post-revolutionary artistic output encompasses a stunning array of forms and genres, such as graffiti, street performance, photography, phototexts, novels, and comics.
