The terms mobility and ecological sustainability in recent years are giving themselves a complete visual makeover and freeing themselves of the out-of-date stereotypes from yesteryear. This book assembles a fresh collection of outstanding work from photography and illustration to graphic design, painting, sculpture and architecture by one hundred international artists curated by eleven international magazines and the Smart car brand. In Sideways: A Smart Art Project, top international creatives and leading trend magazines envision and visualize a new creative language for expressing green modes of mobility.
The rich diversity of work presented in this anthology shows how we can promote greener modes of transportation and shape our future path in a positive way. The artists were given the challenge to re-evaluate the way in which we think about the environment and mobility and give it a new and contemporary visual representation.
